Accessibility

The NEA research states, “While adults with disabilities compose nearly 12 percent of the U.S. adult population, they make up just under seven percent of all adults attending performing arts events or visiting art museums or galleries.”
Madame Dolores humbly seeks to address and change this, realizing that there are limited resources and funding for art, specifically multi-sensory music designed to provide every individual a full experience regardless of ability. The resources and support systems are designed with non-profits in mind and fail to take into account how to provide the same if not similar support and resources for individual artists who are disabled and/or want to engage the disabled community.
A quick review of the music ecosystem will reveal accessibility inequities, whether it is venues that are physically and/or programmatically inaccessible, song distribution platforms that can help you sell albums but not connect to disabled music lovers and frequency responsive music light shows that highlight a bias in the software; connecting to ALL music lovers is not a priority in the music industry.
When it comes to sharing our work we have neither the access, resources or support to do so, and what is available is difficult to find.
Madame Dolores, is committed to creating, responding, adapting and fostering an universal design experience. She is working to diligently ensure accessibility in all aspects of this music/visual project.
In full transparency, while Madame Dolores may be a member of the disabled community, it is new to her, ie…she doesn’t fully know what she is doing only that it is important to her. She is working hard to not only personally transform herself, but ensure that the art she is creating is accessible for her fellow disabled humans.
To do this, right, feel free to provide feedback via the contact page. While it is not your job to teach her, she appreciates any feedback on how to ensure, well, that she doesn’t fuck this up.
